Tourist Attractions in San Jose

San Jose in California has a number of attractions for the interests of the families and couples. It is very convenient to use the Public Transportation from the Mineta International Airport as a number of towns have mushroomed in the ‘silicon valley’. If you are thinking of spending more than 10 days in San Jose then you can actually rent a car from the airport.

Ideally you should aim to stay in the downtown area as a number of tourist attractions are within easy reach. The Guadulpe River Park and Gardens is a huge hit among board-game lovers. There is a huge 930 foot monopoly board called ‘Monopoly in the Park’ that comes complete with all the pieces.

There is an option of renting the board game so that your family can play on it or else you can just park yourself on one of the benches and absorb the fun. The Giant Pumpkin of the San Jose Performing Arts Center can be reached by walking through the park. If you are interested then you can catch a Ballet performance.

If neither the monopoly nor the Musicals interest you then you can just walk to the children’s Discovery Museum. It is a real fun place and enjoyed by all. The Discovery Meadows is a great place to relax and if you have time then you can also check out the Plaza de Cesar Chavez.

There are certain times in the year when you can visit the farmer’s markets, live markets and crafts markets. Right across the plaza you will find the Tech Museum of innovation. This is a real fun place for the children and your next stop could be the San Jose Museum of Art. The admission is free here. If you are fond of cultural shows and plays then you can head for San Jose Reparatory Theater and the Montgomery Theater.

The Paramount Great America Amusement Park and the Raging Waters are located on the northern edge and south eastern edge of San Jose respectively. For shopping you can go Santana Row and don’t forget to visit the San Jose Mystery House. San Jose has lots to offer for the tourists throughout the year.
