travel-girlOften women might face an emergency and may need to travel alone. Though a little risky and dangerous, it can also be a fun experience to do things on your own and learn how to be independent.

The first and foremost thing is to be aware of your surroundings and people. If you are travelling to an unknown place, make sure you wear simple clothes and are always alert. Keep your eyes open and avoid lonely areas. If a person is following you, enter a shop, or cross the lane and move to the other side of the road. If possible, always walk on crowded streets or besides groups of tourists. A good idea to be safe is to not board a bus when it is empty or has very few passengers. Because not only will it make you prone to thefts, but it can also be fatal if something goes wrong. If you ever suspect things, leave the place instantly, or scream and run away. Ask for help if needed.

Having a pepper spray handy is always good and is the best method of self-defense used by women nowadays. Never accept things from strangers like drinks, because you never know what might be mixed with it. Always take things on your own, and eat healthy food. Keep a close watch on your belongings and remember to reach your hotel before night falls. Carry a torch, enough money and lots of confidence. This is because women who seem uneasy or nervous tend to be targets of thefts. Be extremely cautious when getting down from a bus or boarding a taxi, because this is the time when robbers generally snatch away your stuff.

Even though safety is important for all age groups and people, women specially are at a higher risk of facing problems. So just a little bit of care, alertness and common sense from your side, and you will have a really nice, safe and enjoyable journey.
