Celebrated annually, the Burning Man Event is a gathering of some of the most creative masterminds on earth. The event takes place every year during the last week of August in Black Rock City, Nevada. The festivities stretch on for an entire week and are a colorful sight for sore eyes.
The festival has a new art based theme every year and participants as well as visitors are asked to blend in with the theme as much as possible. Event Particulars: The Burning Man Festival is organized and planned months in advance and there are over 2000 volunteers from around Nevada who help the visitors. Entry is not restricted to select people and anyone who feels like joining the band wagon can turn up for the festival.
A group of volunteers become part of the Camp Hook Up Service to help participants and spectators alike. These so called volunteers roam around the area with portable brief cases filled with necessary accessories like zip ties, chap sticks, goggles, bike repair kits, flash cards, glow toys and finger lights to name a few.
Some volunteers carry along beauty kits along with the briefcases which house toothpicks, sun screen lotions, and ointments in addition to containing other beauty accessories. Portable bars do the rounds too and the volunteers who carry these bars offer refreshing drinks to the gathered crowd.
Participants to the Burning Man Event are asked to bring any kind of invention, no matter how wacky it may seem. Importance is given to the raw talent and creativity of the individuals and every kind of effort is accepted, be it different kinds of art installations, conversations or dress masquerades.
There are several interesting exhibits to look at and activities to take part in at the Burning Man Festival. Some of the more prominent day activities include disco roller skating, pole dancing sessions, meditation classes, dancing parties and supposedly talking to GOD in a particular phone booth.
As the night grows near, the lights come on and the entire venue is turned into one big lighted landscape. With blaring music pulsating in every direction; fire dances, light saber wars, art car parades and fire circuses last till the wee hours of dawn.
It’s time to go home and rest in the morning. As you walk home, you cannot help but notice the astounding creations of art that are scattered across the field one more time. The mornings are spent wandering around Black Rock City and by afternoon the festivities start again.
