Shopping in Philadelphia

Philadelphia is known for excellent shopping. It has many local and neighborhood stores where you can easily get traditional items and food. There are also upscale shopping malls apart from the traditional shopping stores. The city has trendy shopping malls, boutiques and vintage shops.

Franklin Mill Malls:
It is the largest shopping mall in but located outside the city center. It has 200 stores, 14 screen Movie Theater, two food courts and seven theme restaurants. The mall is a huge one and consists mainly of factory outlet stores.

In a single year almost 18 million visit the mall. The mall is located at the intersection of Woodhaven Road and Knights Road. It gives a discount up to 60% on designer brands on a regular basis.

There are four main entrances and quite a number of stand alone stores such as Walmart, Super Fresh and Dick’s Sporting Goods. There are a number of fast food eateries and restaurants in the vicinity of the shopping mall.

Chestnut Hill Mall: It is a two level shopping mall and has a lot of antique stores. The mall is located on Chestnut Hill section of Massachusetts on Boylston Street.

People who take cheap Philadelphia flights have a special affinity towards Chestnut Hill Mall as one part of the mall is dedicated towards women’s apparel, accessories, cosmetics and Bloomingdale’s.

Main Street Manayunk Shopping: The mall offers a unique shopping experience as the tourists are literally spoilt for choices. The mall has everything – from boutique shops to trendy galleries.

The mall is known for a world class shopping experience and it is hugely popular among the tourists. Children’s activities and live music are also held from time to time. The mall also organizes festival from time to time displaying the arts and crafts from all over the country.



Philadelphia is truly a shopper’s paradise
. It may not compete with Singapore or Hong Kong but it is a winner in its own right. There are many tourists who simply swear on Philadelphia shopping experience and still others who don’t find much interest in the city shopping scene.

The usual detractors will always be there but Philadelphia will continue to feature in the list of world’s best shopping places.
