Nakatchafushi Resort, Maldives

Location: Flights land at Male’ International Airport which is a short boat ride away (approximately 40 minutes by normal boats and 15 minutes by speed boats).

Accommodation: The island has a total of 51 beach side bungalows with thatched roofs that offer the utmost in comfort and privacy. Surrounded by tropical flowers and shrubs, the cottages have wonderful views of the sea and come equipped with the latest in modern day amenities which include air conditioning, ceiling fans, private verandahs, espresso machines, mini refrigerators, IDD telephones, in built safety lockers and en suite bathrooms with bath tubs and showers.

Cuisine: The resort has a total of 4 restaurants that are scattered around the island. Offering all kinds of dishes from traditional Maldivian food to various international delicacies, the restaurants are complemented by the coffee shop and the sun deck bar which offer tasty tidbits, cocktails and other beverages throughout the day.

General Amenities: In sharp contrast to the small size of the island, the onsite amenities and facilities are aplenty. The resort has a state of the art fitness center in addition to a spa, and sauna rooms. There is an aerobics studio that offers lessons to guests and a separate water sports center in addition to a PADI certified dive center.

The front desk operates 24 hours a day and the resort also offers courier and laundry services.  Guests can avail the use of the karaoke lounge area, the resort’s private library, a games and TV room, on site tennis courts and an air conditioned squash court.

Sun loungers and parasols are aplenty near the resort’s swimming pool which is located right on the beach. The beach itself is a wonder to explore with a long strip of secluded shoreline that is situated in the middle of the lagoon on the western edge of the island.

There is an onsite doctor for medical emergencies in addition to a professional photographer who helps to capture those picture perfect moments. The resort operates a professional day care center that takes care of toddlers while you get away for a while. The travel desk at the reception helps guests plan their excursions and tours in addition to checking flight confirmations and dinner reservations. The onsite gift shop sells T. Shirts and interesting souvenirs to guests.

Recreational Activities: Nakatchafushi Tourist Resort mainly focuses on letting its guests enjoy the waters surrounding the island to the maximum. The resort’s Atoll Water sports Center offers several water activities guests can partake in which include snorkeling, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, jet skiing, sailing, catamaran sailing, wind surfing and banana boat riding.

Nakatchafushi houses some of the most spectacular underwater reef in the entire country and the snorkeling expeditions take you through some of the best underwater sights you can ever lay eyes on. The resort’s dive center offers snorkeling equipment in addition to arranging tours to a shallow lagoon near the resort called Boduhithi Thila that is filled with colorful corals and fishes.

All levels of divers can find something to suit their expertise in the Atoll Watersports Center. The instructors are professionals and offer multilingual support to guests. The center offers several diving courses that enable you to earn a beginners certificate in diving or upgrade an already existing certificate to a higher one.
