‘Munich loves you’ is the avowed motto of this lovable city. You will realize that it is indeed true once you come here. You, too, will fall in love with this enchanting metropolis that is also the third largest city in Germany.

Fascinating city

Being a town with rich history, Munich is generously endowed with an abundance of man-made attractions. Travelers will enjoy being in the city if they are interested in history, art, architecture and old monuments. Or, whether they enjoy strolling through its many thoroughfares and beautiful parks. Most of them will surely succumb to the irresistible temptation of sampling Bavarian cuisine and guzzling Germany’s trademark beer at one of the city’s traditional beer bars, many of those are still doing excellent business since the mid-17th century. Munich is both an incredibly exciting and and an immensely lovable city.

Exploring the city

Travelers to Munich get bewildered with the wide range of tourist attractions that the city offers. Munich has many buildings of historical importance. Some of the significant landmarks are the Renaissance style Old and New Town Halls and Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich Court House, Nymphenburg Palace etc. Music lovers will enjoy concerts at the Bavarian State Opera House and Carl-Orff-Saal Concert Hall. Those with children will find a trip to the Hellabrunn Zoo most rewarding. It has a huge collection of more than 5000 animals from different parts of the world.

Amazing traditions

You aren’t likely to find anywhere in the world such great and amazing traditional restaurants located in historical buildings. The Nuremberg Bratwurst Gloockl is one such restaurant that has been in continuous operation – two World Wars and many upheavals in Germany notwithstanding – since the late 14th century where their specialty menu, the grilled sausages are still being freshly prepared over an open beech-wood fire for more than 400 years!

Nightlife

Munich’s reputation as the provider of excellent nightlife opportunities is absolutely irrefutable. You don’t have to wait for the months of September and October for immersing in the ‘Oktoberfest’ festivities. You can enjoy it everyday in the city’s many beer halls.

What is amazing about this place is the excellent opportunity of exploring great part of Munich’s history and architecture after the meal is over, without having to leave the 450-year old gothic monument.

Munich’s historical beer halls are great Bavarian institutions. Adolf Hitler made the mistake of misusing one of these on that fateful day in November 1923 for proclaiming the formation of the Nazi party that brought so much of misery to the humankind.

Shopping

Munich’s most popular market is located between Marienplatz and Isartor. Shops here sell a wide variety of clothes, shoes, fruits, Turkish breads, fish-paste, olives, garlic-shrimp – practically anything that you need.

Hotels

Being a popular tourist destination, Munich has a number of hotels to suit the preferences of potential guests. Sofitel Munich Bayerpost is a high-end luxury hotel, close to downtown city center. Consult relevant websites and select a hotel of your choice.
