Mauritius is the favourite destination of all, specially the honeymooners. The island on the Indian Ocean is more than just sunbathing and swimming. It has a lot of cultural heritage too on offer.
Mauritius is famous for many things, among which the beaches top the list. After having enough of the beaches, one can go downtown where one would find delicious cuisines and a lot of historical places to hanker upon.
Mauritius can be divided into four parts: North Mauritius, South Mauritius, South-East Mauritius and West Mauritius, each having its own cluster of unique destinations. In the North one can visit Grand Baie – the shopping and leisure spot of Mauritius.
The nightlife too is vibrant here. Tourists can stay here at hotels and visit nearby villages and beaches. The mountainous Rodrigues on the northeast of Mauritius is completely different from what people think Mauritius consists of.
These volcanic mountains lets one feel completely detached from the world. The stunning landscapes and views are a different story. To find such mountains in a place mostly known for its beaches is a welcome surprise for tourists. In the North Mauritius, one can visit the Balaclava Ruins and the Triolet Shivala.
Triolet Shivala is the largest Hindu temple in Mauritius devoted to Shiva, Ganesha, Krishna, Vishnu, Muruga and Brahma. In the region of East Mauritius, one can go for loads of water sports.
The tiny island on this side of Mauritius – Ile Aux Cerfs, is alive with water sports. Also there is the Flacq Market where one can buy till they are overloaded with stuffs. This is the biggest open-air market of Mauritius and can be visited anytime.
The South East too offers exiting destinations. Here, one can visit the Dutch Ruins and the Ile aux Aigrettes, an island that has been made a home to many rare and about-to-extinct species.
So, come to Mauritius sans delay to experience all these and more.
