Discover Brazil: The Land of Great Treasures
Brazil is a land of unending discoveries where one can explore the earth’s greatest treasures; forests and waters. Since my teen age I have always been a die-hard fan of the Brazilian soccer team and longed to witness the Brazil Carnival.
It was only after a short stay of one year and a half in Brazil that I realized that the country has so much to offer to its visitors in terms of rich bio diversity, cultural heritage and natural beauty.
The north of Brazil encompasses the federal states of Acre, Rondonia, Roraima, Amazonas, Amapa, Para and Tacantins. Any visitor touring the Amazons would be completely swallowed by the fascination and power of the Amazon rainforests.
On certain moments it is tranquil and placid and on others, loud and cheerful from the calls and flights of the birds. In the mornings, one may go fishing in the narrow canals between islands called ‘igrapes’ and in the evenings steering through calm waters in a small boat to observe nocturnal animals is immensely engrossing.
In the region of the Amazons, there is more bio-diversity than anywhere else on earth. It is home to some of the most endangered species of monkeys, parrots and jaguars. As you depart from this region, you are sure to carry with you an indelible impression of this exotic location.
Traveling to the north-eastern part of the country would mean unraveling miles of Brazilian beaches, tropical climate and splendid flora. Rio Grande do Norte, Paraiba, Alagoas and Bahia are some of the federal states of this region.
In Bahia, tourists love savoring the region’s scrumptious cuisine, visiting the churches, going out on a jongada and floating dreamily over the northeastern sea driven by the omnipresent gentle breeze. Tapioca, spiny lobsters, Galinha ao Malho Pardo( a chicken specialty) further enhance the bahia experience.
The south-eastern part of the country is one which has many foreign migrants. Carnival time is fun time in Brazil. It is Rio de Janeiro which features one of the best carnival parades in the country.
It is a breath-taking experience to see such display of vibrant colors, costumes, music and dancing at one place. The enthusiasm amidst the crowd is mind boggling.
As one strolls through the city, its admirations grow with each passing day. The Copacabana and Ipenama beaches offer an incredible landscape to any beach lover.Brazil, the land of wonders must be unmistakably added to the travel wish list of someone yearning to get a glimpse of a wild and yet calming beauty of Mother Nature.
