chhattisgarhThe 26th State of India, Chhattisgarh is just about 10 years old. But these 10 years have been enough for the State to create an identity of its own, especially in the tourism sector.

Chhattisgarh is a State that has no sea by its border, nor does it share its border with international countries. Almost 44% of its land is covered by dense green forests, which are inhabited by some of the most beautiful and rare animal species.

Because of its location in Central India, Chhattisgarh always remained a part of major kingdoms and empires that ruled India, thus making it rich in cultural and historical heritage.

The State also has the largest numbers of tribes in India, which have their own unique cultural codes. Thus, Chhattisgarh has a lot to explore for the discerning tourist.

Mahanadi River originates in Raipur, the capital city of Chhattisgarh. The Vindhyachal range too is present here in Raipur. The river alongside the mountain range is a lovely combination for anyone.

Raipur is filled with monuments and traditions that are of great national importance. There is also Champaran, temples of Rajim, sanctuaries like that of Barnawpara, Sita Nadi and Udanti to watch for. Traditional folk dances such as Raut Nacha, Dewar Nacha and Padki are also a feast for the eyes.

Bastar is another main attraction of Chhattisgarh. The place is mostly dominated by tribals who make up about 70% of the population. The main tribes of Bastar are Gonds, Muris, Abhuj Maria, Bison Horn Maria, Halbaa, Bhatra and Dhurvaa.

They are unique in their own way and are strikingly different from each other. The largest waterfall in India – the Chirakota Falls on Indravati River, adds more freshness to this already beautiful land. If wildlife is your passion, you can go to Kanger Valley National Park and the Indravati National Park.

So, come to Chhattisgarh today!
