Beach Travel : Beautiful Beaches
A warm sunny day by the beach is always something to look forward to during summers. However, finding your own priavte stretch of beach area where you can be free and uninterrupted can be hard, what with almost all the beaches being crowded during the summer season.
But you may be surprised to note that there are still some fantastic beaches that are yet undiscovered and free from crowds and annoying disturbances. And no! These beaches are not located in far away islands or other hard to reach places. These secluded beaches are located in states like California, Florida, Miami and even Florida in the USA.
Here are some of the most secluded beaches in the USA which are easy to get to and offer complete peace and privacy for the ultimate beach comber.
Enderts Beach: Situated in California, the Enderts beach is a highly protected and secluded shoreline that is for the most part completely hidden by giant redwood trees in the Northern California’s Redwoods National Park.
The beach is located in an isolated area and is frequented by several birds and denizens in addition to a few sunbathers. A half mile walk is required to reach the beach from the parking lot and visitors need to climb down an embankment to reach it (not recommended for people with walking disabilities).
The beach offers stupendous views of the Pacific Ocean and is almost empty save for a few of its regular visitors. Children will have plenty of fun here with the Ranger Guided Tide Pool Walk Program. Visitors can also camp at the Nickel Creek Campground which is located nearby.

Bowman’s Beach: Situated in Sanibel Island in Florida, Bowman’s Beach is a quiet stretch of sandy shoreline that is devoid of civilisation and the crowds that come with it.
Visitors need to walk about a quarter of a mile from the parking lot to reach the beach, which is practically empty, except for a few barbecue grills that can be used by the visitors.
The beach and its nearby areas offer only the basic amenities. However, a visit to the beach alone can overshadow all the other facts and enjoying quality time in this isolated haven is something that needs to be cherished for a life time.
Cumberland Island: A protected national seashore and a United Nations International Biosphere Reserve, Cumberland Island is located in the state of Gerogia. The particular beach in question was used as a family retreat by the Carnegies in the 19th century.
The beach contains powder smooth white sand and was protected from all kinds of high rise developments and therefore retains its natural beauty to this day. The beach is frequented by a number of beach combers (limited to just 300 a day) in addition to being an abode for several armadillos, wild horses and sea turtles.
Dry Tortugas: The Dry Tortugas are a cluster of seven islands in the Gulf of Mexico that can be reached only by boats. These islands are extremely isolated and offer hordes of activities for visitors.
These include swimming, marine life spotting, bird watching, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Several boat agencies operate catamaran rides to the islands which take about 5 hours to reach from Key West in Florida.
The best way to enjoy the private beaches on these islands is to opt for an overnight camping trip wherein you will be dropped off at the island and picked up the next day.
Each island has a few camping grounds that visitors can opt for. A point to be noted here is that campers need to plan their trip properly in addition to making sure they pack all the essential items to carry along on the trip, including water.
Kaihalulu: Located in Hawaii, the Kaihalulu Beach is considered as one of the most secluded beaches in the USA and one of the most dangerous as well. Also called as the Red Sand Beach, the Kaihalulu Beach was formed as a result of the erosion of a giant volcanic cinder cone.
The beach is located on the far side of the Ka’uiki Hills in the Hana Bay of Maui. The reddish cove is extremely secluded, hard to find and hard to get to once you find it. It is completely surrounded by imposing black cliffs and ironwood trees.
A steep descent from the top of a cliff is the only way to reach the beach which is considered off limits for the less adventurous souls. A naturally formed rocky lava seawall acts as barrier and tames the wild Pacific surf from crashing onto the beach with full force. Nevertheless, swimming at the beach is considered extremely risky and dangerous due to the presence of jagged rocks that protrude from the sea wall at regular intervals.
The beach is at it’s lonliest early in the morning and this is probably the time you would want to visit it. Make sure to take along a person who knows the area well though.
Make it early enough and you will be lucky to watch the sun rise over the beautiful lagoon which is covered with red and black sand and caressesd by the turquoise blue waters of the Hana Bay.
Point Bennet: One of the most secluded beaches in the entire USA can be found in Point Bennet, a small island located in Channel Island, San Migeul, California. In addition to housing a spectacular shore line, the island is also home to several plants and animals (more than 2000 species). Some of these animals and plants cannot be found anywhere else on earth.
The island is also home to several bottle nose dolphins, seals and sea lions that frequent the shores often. The only way to reach Point Bennet is by boat and regular ferries and boat rides can be chartered from Ventura, a nearby coastal town in California.
